This is a post I wrote before (Welcome to the Gossip World) but i didn't translate it to English so here it is the translation.

I am really sorry about my English but this post is a bit difficult to write. There will be mistakes that I will try to correct.

I do not know how to start talking about what I really mean so I'll try to be as short as possible. I do it from my point of view. It is totally random and do not know why I write it but for those who want to entertain or get bored and do not know what to do, this may be good.

Why I titled "Welcome to the Gossip World"? It's a really simple reason because we live it every day. Howwever, my view is focused from the gyaru world and I do so because, after all, this world is really a gossip one. Did not you want to learn what people do or do not do and try to improve on?

However, it has deg

enerated a lot. But of course, really depends on the type of person. Not too many have degenerated. Do you not understand what I mean? Now I'll explain.

What is a gyaru?

Obviously, for many of you: perfect makeup, great hair and a good outfit, all following guidelines. Agreed. All this is fine, however, and apparently now has become a contest to see "who is better than other" and I feel really sad at this point. It seems that people want to be "cool" because the internet than because theimselves. Fashion is better in internet than in real life just to be better than other girls, and i say girls because girls are the bad ones in this.

For some time, it seems people started to be even more demanding than it should be and easy criticism to others no matter how it hurts. It's really selfish, isn't it?

What makes me sad is that there are girls who would like to join gyaru fashion but do not know how and see it like a really difficult thing. But not because it is difficult, simply because many are so tough, criticize, and instead of helping the neglected they don't do anything. I know this last case is extreme, but really exist. Most veterans should heed who really need it but they do not take account of many of the new ones because they do not contribute anything.

It should not be limited to what is often more sold. What I mean is that not only are magazines such as Egg, Ranzuki, Popsister and Popteen. There are also Jelly, Nuts...more glamorous and fantastic.

I want to talk about makeup.

Another point is that not only exists gyaru with excesive make up because there are some with a touch more elegant and mature. I'm not saying have a natural makeup, because that really is not being gyaru but it's no need to have a super dolly eyes! Remember that they put them super big because they want to imitate the West girls. We ended up doing that because we really like imitating the way they make up and we like their dolly face but just that!

The Japanese have guidelines gyaru makeup, but if you really think about it, it's equals as Westerners do, only a little more elaborate.

About the clothes, obviously you have to dress well, knowing how to combine and, especially, look good with what you wear. Do not try to wear a style which you don't feel good. Many do it because they look more "gyaru" but inside they are not sure or happy about it. We can not force ourselves to wear clothes that do not satisfy us. We would never be happy or secure with ourselves. The important thing is to see beautiful inside and out. But we must strive for it.

You do not have to think about difficult style.With a simple outfit you can make a good impression!

Remember that fashion taste is massive, imposed or incurred to clothing,perfumes, accessories, colors and everything is linked to the beautification. As the quote "to be beautiful must suffer", it requires sacrifice. It is not simple to get what we want and can not be lazy in everything that has to do with fashion.

And an important point I have to emphasize is the same as always:

No, we are not Japanese, no, we do not have slanted eyes and no, we do not have the constitution they have. And I really hate people who get physical with each other. The people in question are already complexed so, why does other have to say stupid things about them? You can say things without an awful personallity. These things can be said in a way that people can accept them. There are no rules we have to follow, why people make stupid rules???

- If I have a big nose do not ask me to do a surgery because i will not.

- If I have big teeth , I will not cut them because you want.

- If I'm fat, look pretty, do not say "can not be gyaru" because I put the same effort as the others do and maybe i try it harder than others! I have the same constitution as you so you have to adapt to me. But in this point i have to say that if you are fat you have to wear clothes which suit you.

You're ugly! You can not be gyaru. WTF? It's the stupidest thing I've ever heard. But guys! if you ever see this, do not heed. We are all beautiful and handsome and if we don't feel like this, we at least have the advantage to wear make up and improve the things we don't like about our body. The most importantly thing is being happy with ourselves because if we do not look pretty to ourselves, who will see it? Besides, who said that for the gyaru fashion you have to be beautiful? e_e

Okay that gyaru fashion is a lifestyle, but we don't have to be obsessed about it!!

Gyaru...a long hard road.

Este post está dedicado fundamentalmente a aquellas que no están seguras de sí mismas a la hora de seguir la moda gyaru. Espero que esto que he escrito pueda ser de ayuda.

I wrote this post for those girls who want to follow gyaru fashion and who are not sure about themselves. It has been hard to write but...here it is!


1. No tengo ropa de marca japonesa.

No es necesario tener ropa japonesa para ser gyaru. Las gyaru japonesas tienen la posibilidad de conseguir ropa estupenda simplemente porque hay marcas que se dedican a ellas. Las extranjeras no tenemos la suerte de tener esas marcas tan maravillosas. Es por ello que, con lo que se vende en nuestros respectivos paises, debemos sacar partido a todo. Se pueden encontrar cosas muy chulas y saber llevarlas sin que sean de Japón.

No por llevar ropa japonesa vas a verte mejor. Siempre hay casos de gente que se compra ropa de allí y no sabe combinarlo ni llevarlo.

1. I have no Japanese brand clothes.

You don´t need japanese clothes to consider yourself gyaru. Japanese gyaru are able to get great clothes because there are brands that are dedicated to them. Foreigners do not have the luck to have those wonderful brands. That´s why, with that clothes which our respective countries are selling, we must take advantage of everything. You can finding cool things and knowing how to lead without being in Japan.
Although you wear japanese clothes, you don´t have to look better.
There are always cases of people who buy clothes from there and don´t know how to combine them.


2. “¿Extensiones? ¿No tienes? ¡Eso es horrible!”

No es necesario llevar extensiones para verte más gal. Sólo con variar el estilo de peinado basta, pero no te ciñas solo a llevar siempre el mismo. Intenta cambiar.

2. Hair extensions? Don´t you have? That´s terrible!

No need to get hair extensions to look more gal. Changing your hair style is enough, but don´t wear always the same. Try to change it.


3. ¡No soy gyaru sin las circle lenses!

Para empezar, no todas las gals llevan circle lenses. Es cierto que ayudan a tener una cara más de muñeca, pero si no puedes ponertelo o no tienes dinero necesario, no pasa nada.
Si lo que tienes es miedo de ponértelas porque nunca antes habías llevado lentillas... tranquila. Los que la suelen llevar han tenido una primera vez y aunque tuvieran miedo lo hicieron. ¿Por qué tú no?
Me han dicho que las circle lenses son peligrosas...
Son peligrosas si no las cuidas y las llevas más tiempo de lo recomendable. Cada vez que te mandan circle lenses, si sigues las instrucciones cuidadosamente no tiene por qué pasar nada. Recuerda que las circle lenses son cosméticos. Hay que
cuidarlos mucho.

3. I am not gyaru without circle lenses!

First, not all gals wear circle lenses. It certainly helps to have a dolly face, but if you can´t wear them or don´t have enough money, nothing happens.
If you are afraid because you had never wore lenses...don´t worry. Those who usually do it have had a first time and although they were afraid, they did it. Why not you?
I have heard that circle lenses are dangerous...
They are dangerous if you don´t be care with them and if you wear them longer than recommended. When you receive circle lenses from any store, all you have to do is following the instructions they give to you carefully.
Remember that circle lenses are cosmetic. Must lot of attention.


4. Confianza.

La confianza es necesaria para seguir esta moda. Es cierto que se empieza sin tener seguridad y sientes que todo el mundo te observa y quieres volver a vestirte normal, pero si dejas que el miedo se apodere de ti nunca podrás avanzar y te quedaras estancada en “me gustaría ser gyaru pero no puedo”. Todas hemos empezado por eso y muchas han ido teniendo más confianza en sí mismas.
¿Por qué no ver hasta dónde puedes llegar?

4. Confidence.

Confidence is needed to continue this trend. It is true that we start without security, feeling that everyone will notice us and wanting to return to normal clothes, but if you let fear overwhelm, you can never going on and you will get stuck in "I´d be gyaru but I can´t". Everyone start with that feeling and many girls have been developing, having more confidence in themselves.
Why don´t see how far can you go?


5. Amigos.

Sí, los amigos ayudan a darte seguridad. ¿A quién no le gustaría que a sus amigos le gustase lo mismo que a ti? Pero hay personas que no tienen amigos en su zona que les guste. ¿Qué hacer?
No problem.
¿No tienes amigos que compartan tus gustos? Mejor, así se fijarán más en ti.
¿Que tus amigos te critican tu forma de vestir? Es algo imprescindible para avanzar.
Me llaman chica artificial porque todo lo que llevo es falso: pestañas, extensiones, circle lenses, uñas...y estoy harta. ¿Y qué pasa? Lo especial está en lo que sobresale. No tenemos por qué ser igual al resto. Para eso es que seguimos esta moda: ¡para sobresalir!

5. Friends

Yeah, friends help you with security. Who don´t want friends with the same likes like you? But there are people who have no friends in their area that likes anything about Japan.
No problem.
Don´t have friends who share your likes? Better, you will stand out more than them
Your friends are always criticizing you? It must happen to go on.
They call me artificial girl because I wear: hair extensions, nails, false eyelashes, circle lenses...and I am tired of that. So what? Speacial things are what stand. We need to shine over the rest of people. That´s why we follow this trend!


6. Accesorios

Es una gran ayuda en los outfits en los que no sabemos que poner. Dan un toque fresco y elegante, a la vez que sexy dependiendo de lo que lleves puesto.

They are a great help with outfits which we don´t know what to wear. They offer a fresh, elegant and sexy look depending what are your clothes.


7. No quiero teñirme el pelo pero veo que las gyaru llevan colores claros.

¡Falso!
Los colores claros suelen llevarse entre las gyaru japonesas ¡pero también existe el color negro! Si tienes miedo a teñírtelo y quieres cambiar, siempre puedes recurrir a pelucas aunque sea algo artificial. Al principio puede que te sientas extraña, pero más adelante le cogerás el gusto.
Si optas por no comprar peluca, siempre puedes ir haciéndote mechas en el pelo para que, cuando tengas la confianza suficiente, te lo tiñas completamente del color que te guste.

7. I don´t want to dye my hair but I see gyaru have light colors...

False! Light colors use to be on Japanese gyaru but there are also with black hair! If you are afraid to change your hair color, you can buy wigs although it can be artificial. At first you may feel strange but later you will like wearing them. If your choice is not buying a wig, you can making your hair lighter gradually so when you have enough confidence, you can completely dye your hair.


8. Pereza.

Ese gran enemigo de la moda, la pereza. Y no sólo de la moda, si no de nuestro día a día. No puede existir la pereza cuando se quiere ser gyaru. Despréndete de ella.

8. Sloth.

That great enemy of fashion, laziness. And not just fashion, our day to day too. You can´t be lazywhen you want to be gyaru. Let sloth go.


9. Estoy gorda y no valgo para ser gal

No te acomplejes por ser así. Cada uno es como es. Es cierto que lo que una desea es ser delgada pero ¿acaso no se tiene el derecho de llevar lo que uno quiera? Simplemente hay que saber qué va con cada una y lo que puede vestir. Grandes pintores conocidos veían la belleza en mujeres con carnes. ¿Por qué no hacer ver que se puede ser bella sin necesidad de ser esquelética? No te avergüences, ten seguridad y todo el mundo se postrará ante ti.
Lo importante es quererse a una misma, después de eso, todo el mundo cambiará de opinión sobre ti.
Sin embargo, si lo que quereis hacer por encima de todo es adelgazar, teneis que comprometeros a hacerlo. Para mí, sin duda (y para much@s) me parece de gran inspiración Sara Mari. Ella, que antes tenía sobrepeso, ya no es la misma que era antes. En este post (http://chouzuru.blogspot.com/2009/12/how-i-lost-90-lbs-41-kg.html) habla sobre su experiencia y la manera en que se libró de ese peso de más que tenía. No sé si os ayudará a l@s interesad@s, pero para mí es una referencia a tener en cuenta.

9. I am fat so I can´t be gyaru.

Don´t be intimidated by it. You are like you are. It´s true that everyone want to be thin, but don´t you have the right to wear what you want? You have to know what you can wear and if that suits on you. Great known painters saw the beauty on fat girls. I think that the most important beauty secret is confidence. If you want yourself, people will see you pretty.
However, if what you want to do above all is losing weight, you have to commit yourself. My inspiration about it is, with no doubt, Sara Mari. And not only for me, many people think this. She was overweight before and now she is a thin and a pretty girl. In this post (http://chouzuru.blogspot.com/2009/12/how-i-lost-90-lbs-41-kg.html) she talks about her experience. I don´t know if it can helping you but for me, she is a reference to consider (and not only for it, for everything).


10. Paciencia

No se es gal de la noche a la mañana. A todos les cuesta trabajo ir desarrollandose
para definir su propio estilo. En la evolución habrá meteduras de pata y muchísimas cosas que se tendrá que mejorar. Ser gal no es decir “como llevo un lazo en el pelo, ya soy gal”. No se trata de eso. Ser gal es diferenciarte del resto, ir evolucionando cada día y mejorando como tal. No basta con querer, es necesario ser.
Hay que ser muy pacientes. A algun@s desarrollar su estilo y ser lo que hoy son les llevaron años. Poco a poco y con buen pie.

10. Patience

It´s impossible to be gyaru from one day to another. Our development is hard and it´s no easy to define our own style.
In the evolution you will make mistakes and a lot will be improved. Being a gyaru doesn´t mean "because I wear a bow on my hair, I am gyaru". It´s not that. To be a gyaru you have to differentiate yourself from others, to evolve everyday and improve.
Be patient. Some people, to develop their style and be what they are now took them years!


Creo que esto es algo que toda chica debería tener en mente cuando quiere ser gyaru. Algunas de las cosas me pasaron a mí y supongo que a vosotras también (no lo sé), pero espero que os haya ayudado en algo a aquellas que no están seguras de sí mismas.
